The Farm Il Grattacapo

The estate, with a surface of slightly more than 5 ha, rests under Monte Rinaldi (via Bolognese), faces Fontelucente, just below Fiesole, and is located on the right slope at the entrance of the small valley carved by the Mugnone, a stream deeply bound to the history of Florence.
The farm is connected by its bridge to a village within the municipality of Fiesole, Pian di Mugnone, where I sell my products directly to customers, as shown in the picture.
Having started my activity 5 years ago, I now concentrate on the production of fruit and vegetables such as apricots, persimmons, quinces, tomatoes, string beans, pumpkins, broad beans, cabbage.
In the last few years I also started to work with bees and I now harvest a delicious mixed flowers ‘Millefiori' honey (wattle, wildflowers, fir and metcalfa honeydew), raw propolis and pollen.
The estate still has a small vineyard of I.G.T. (Typical Geographical Indication) wine grapes planted by my grandfather in the 60s and which I now use for producing a heated must reduction called saba, like an ancient cooking sauce.
